Delt’s demonstration area mutually recognizes top-notch foreign talent


The executive committee of the demonstration area in the Yangtze River Delta on ecologically friendly development and authorities in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang have released a plan to mutually recognize high-end international talent.

As part of the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, the green development demonstration area spans Qingpu District in Shanghai, Wujiang District in Suzhou City of Jiangsu Province, and Jiashan County in Jiaxing City of Zhejiang Province.

The new program aims to build a more open mechanism for cooperation and sharing of talent and promote the high-quality development of the demonstration area.

In accordance with laws and regulations, top-notch talent from abroad will enjoy a maximum work permit period of up to five years in Qingpu, Wujiang and Jiashan. Recognition by any region will be valid in the rest. Authorities will also streamline the service for employers in order to facilitate foreign talent’s life and work in the regions.

The State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs has set the classification standards for foreigners to work in China into categories A, B and C. A, as top-notch personnel; B as professional talent; and C as ordinary workers. This new program is applicable to those who meet the criteria for category A.
